What is it?
GenoGUARD is an open source biosecurity solution for the gene synthesis industry and the synthetic biology community. It screens synthetic DNA sequences to detect the possible presences of sequences of concern that may indicate the use of synthetic biology to engineer biological weapons. GenoGUARD implements the best match method recommended by the US Government in the Screening Framework Guidance for Providers of Synthetic Double-Stranded DNA. The development of GenoGUARD has been supported by the MIRTRE Corporation,SAIC, and NSF Award 1060776.
